Jack Mast was the third generation of his family to own and carefully tend the Mast Ranch; in his whole adult life, Jack spent only one night away from his beloved farmstead. Situated on the western side of the Yountville Appellation, the alluvial bench land of the Mayacamas Mountains imparts traits unique to this acclaimed terroir: gravelly soil interspersed with sand, loam, and clay; hillside irrigation, and cool bay winds that provide perfect temperate balance for Cabernet Sauvignon vines.
Tasting Notes
The deep red-violet hue leads to stunning aromas of blackberry jam, wild rose, and toasted oak. The balanced palate showcases chewy tannins and juicy acidity, with highlights of sweet vanilla, Bing cherry and undertones of ripe strawberries, and cocoa. This wine would be paired perfectly with a dry aged ribeye topped with gorgonzola, or for your next special occasion when you want to show off!
